Shadwell Youth Organisation was first established back in 1990 after the demise of Shapla FC. The club was originally backed by Shadwell Gardens Tenants Association and like other clubs was self funded. Shadwell YO is now a firmly established organisation and widely regarded as one of the biggest clubs in Tower Hamlets.

Shadwell prides itself by representing all different communities and an ever growing organisation. As an FA Charter Standard Club Shadwell now boast 2 senior teams, an under 16’s team, an under 14’s team and recently an under 12’s team. The organisation also has many community initiatives which reflect its status as a registered charity. The organisation acts to promote the greater participation of socially excluded groups in sports and health activities within the Shadwell, St Katherine’s and Wapping electoral wards.

Football is where Shadwell made its mark and in 2001 the club achieved an unprecedented treble of BFA League Bangla champions, cup winners and ILFL champions. In 2005 Shadwell achieved an historic ILFL league and cup double - the only team to do a double in both BFA and ILFL to date. Shadwell are also the current ILFL league cup holder which won for a record 3 times. As well as club success many of the senior players have gone to play at higher levels of football with clubs such as Sporting Bengal.
